The new SORALUCE VTC-6000-H and the SORALUCE VTC-3200 vertical turning centres with will be shown during these days, and Xabier Mendizabal SORALUCE´s R&D Director will conduct a Masterclass in SORALUCE VTC technologies. Other machines with advanced applied technologies such as DAS (Dynamic Active Stabilizer) and the new Heidenhain TCN 640 will be also on display for all attendees.

Several live demonstrations in real machining conditions on SORALUCE VTC-6000-H will take place, including:

  • rough and finish turning
  • milling using TRANSMIT function
  • multi start threading
  • measuring using 3D touch probe

According to  Vladimir Kushko  Nasosenergomash´s Technical Manager, there has been a great improvement as regards precision and productivity. Previously, the pump bodies were processed on six different machines to undergo all the machining operations required. With the VTC-3200, all the operations are carried out on just one machine and with a single clamping process. This has increased our productivity, reduced the idle time needed for part clamping, and it has improved precision as there is only one clamping process.
The machine also includes a head with four turning positions, allowing four tools to be used with no stoppage times for tool change, and this optimises the machining times”.

Combining turning, milling and grinding operations in a single machine has generated considerable interest in SORALUCE‘s VTC range of large vertical turning centres. Demand for this versatile and extremely rigid machine tools is across the complete spectrum of manufacturing industry, from power generation and transport to mining and oil & gas. This is because the modular design enables a wide variety of different configurations to be produced quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.

The SORALUCE VTC range offer excellent results in accuracy and finishing and are extremely rigid. The main elements of the machine such as base, columns and cross rail are ribbed castings providing a high degree of stability to the machine assembly. They are fully stress relieved prior to final machining to enable the machine’s structure to absorb the stresses and dampen the vibrations induced by cutting forces even under the heaviest cutting conditions. The RAM is made from a normalised steel forging, induction hardened and precision ground.

SORALUCE VTC range can be completed with a wide range of turning, drilling, milling, grinding and threading heads available, each fitted with an integral bearing.

*“DAS” Dynamic Active Stabilizer which eliminates vibrations produced during milling and and increases machining performance by up to 300%, whilst improving surface quality, providing constant efficiency independent of head position in the work area, reducing maintenance costs and increasing tool working life by up to 30%.
